CENTAURO

SERIES OF WHEELED ARMOURED VEHICLES


The Centauro family of wheeled armoured fighting vehicles has been developed by Consorzio Iveco Fiat - Otobreda, based in Rome. Iveco Fiat is responsible for the vehicle and powerpack development and Otobreda developed the turrets and weapon systems. Centauro entered production in 1991.

  • Well sloped glacis plate
  • Nose slopes back under hull
  • Horizontal hull roof
  • Hull rear door opens to the right
  • Turret mounted to rear of vehicle
  • Four large road wheels either side with slightly larger gap between first and second road wheels
  • Upper part of hull slopes inward
  • Engine exhaust grill on right side of hull above 1st and 2nd road wheels
