| In 1928 the US Army Ordnance Deprtment used two chassis manfactured by the Pontiac Division of GMC as the basis for the T1 light armoured car. Later production vehicles
were designated as Scout Cars and were issued to Cavalry, Signal & Field Artillery units.
Each vehicle had a crew of 4, was armed with two .30cal machine guns and were powered by a Pontiac, 6-cylinder, gasoline engine. The armour was very rudimentary.
