| Officially called the C.47 F.R.C. Mod.31 [Lit; Canon anti-char Fonderie Royale de Canons Modèle 1931] it was the main anti tank gun in use in the Belgian
army in 1940 with at least 750 examplesin use. It was used in three different roles: towed anti-tank gun in the field army, fixed anti-tank gun in bunkers
and forts, and assault gun aboard the Belgian T-13 light tank destroyer. It was an effective gun by all accounts and markedly superior to the German
37mm gun.
