| The Hedgebuster aka Green Device was devised sometime in late june 1944 by a Lt Charles Green, a tank officer in the US 29th Division. It was a bumper-type device
constructed from salvaged railway track used by the germans for coastal defences. It was good enough to deal with the small embankments encountered in the bocage
area but was not good enough for the larger embankments or the double hedgerows flanking nearly all the sunken lanes. It was superceded by the Cullin Device.
