SERIES OF MINE ROLLERS

The PT series of mine clearing roller devices are all very similar and only differ in details. They are all made up of a varying number of rollers joined together into two roller sections attached to the front of a tank so as to be suspended in front of each track. The equipment usually takes 10 - 15 minutes to fit to the tank and is usually assisted by a crane. The width of the cleared lane varies between .83 - 1.3m depending on the equipment used. It is more common these days for mine-rollers to be used to detect minefields rather than clear them. This task is usually left to the mine ploughs and expolsive mine clearing charges.
