RAKUSHKA

CARRIER, TRACKED, AIR-PORTABLE, CARGO/PERSONNEL


In November 2003, the Russian airborne forces (VDV) started trials of a new APC, made by OAO "Volgogradskyi Traktornyi Zavod". The vehicle is called "Rakushka" and is based on the BMD-3. It will not only be used as an armoured personnel carrier, but also as a cargo transporter.
