| A modification kit was developed at ROF Nottingham in the 1970's for the British Army to allow an operating team with a number of Blowpipe missiles to be carried inside the
Spartan APC. In use the team dismounted and carried the missiles to a firing position, carried out their mission and then returned to the vehicle.
The conversion had to be achieved without any modifications being allowed to the base APC vehicles. All the existing APC internal equipment was removed and replaced with
the racking, missile systems and crew stations. Then all the standard equipment needed by the team and vehicle was refitted into new locations.
