Another heavily modified experimental version fitted with the turret from an M18 fitted with a 105mm howitzer. The hull resembled that of the LVT(A)5 1951 prototype but was
fitted with skirts which concealed all the suspension except nine roadwheels. It weighed 37.5-tons.
Performance in the water was poor and a number of modifications were tried including rudders, a false bow and even chain driven vanes to help improve the swimming speed
but this did not help at all and eventually the engine & transmission were also replaced but this did not cure the problems.
