During the winter of 1944-45 an LVT(A)1 was stripped of its M3 light tank turret and refitted with one from the much newer M24 light tank. This gave it a much larger 75mm gun
capable of attacking all types of targets including armour as well as power-traverse and gyro-stabilisation. The vehicle carried 100 rounds of ammunition comfortably.
