| The Galil is an Israeli constructed weapon based on AK-47 and Rk62.
Its main features are the folding tubular steel stock and a gas-operated rotating bolt. It has been produced in 7.62x51mm, 5,56x45mm and .30.
Israel planned to replace its locally produced FN FAL with the Galil but in the end it was replaced more or less by the M16 Armalite.
