| The Cruiser Mk IV aka A13 Mk II was very similar to the Cruiser Mk III from which it was developed. The main armour was increased to 30mm and extra armor was added for
crew protection in the form of hollow "V" sides fitted to the turret. The idea being that the angled armour would provide additional protection against anti-tank rounds;
particularly those from the anti-tank rifles then in service.
The Mark IV saw action with the 1st Armoured Division in France during 1940 and in the desert up untill the end of 1941. Although lightly armoured and prone to breakdowns
they were seen as a valauble asset in the desert conditions.
