X1

SERIES OF LIGHT TANKS

By the end of the 1970's it was becoming increasingly difficult to find spare parts for the Brazilian M3 fleet, so a decision was made to modernise part of the M3A1 fleet. and these vehicles were known as the X1-A or CC MB1 (Lit: Combat Car, Brazilian Model No. 1) They remained in service until the 1990's. A small batch of vehicles was modernised to the X1-A1 standard which had a longer chassis and this vehicle was the base for the completely new X1A2 or CC MB2 (Lit: Combat Car, Brazilian Model No. 1) series of light tanks constructed after 1980.
