| The T3 series first appeared in 1933 and were a good design capapble of a fair turn of speed for the time. The secret of its speed was the new vastly improved vertical volute
spring suspension later used to great effect on a number of american tank designs.
One of the criticisms of the design was its open top with no weather protection, another was the drivers position low down between the unprotected fuel tanks and behind the large differential.
A total of six tractors were completed by Rock island Arsenal with all finally being converted to T3E4 standard during 1937.
