The le.gl.Einheits-Pkw. [Lit; leichte gelände Einheits-Personenkraftwagen] was a standardised light army car, produced under parentage of Stoewer and co-produced by BMW and Hanomag. It was intended to replace the mass of converted civilian vehicles in use with the Wehrmacht but in the end the mass-produced Volswagen Type 82 was more successful at doing this.
