Developed from the commercial Mack International Motor Company, Model AP, 6x4 truck, the T2 was tested at Aberdeen Proving Ground. After evaluation from April through
June of 1929 the vehicle was found satisfactory as a prime mover of 3-inch gun material or as a cargo vehicle to transport the Tank, Light, T1E1. Three vehicles were purchased
and placed into service with the Coast Artillery Corps as the 3-Inch AA Prime Mover, M1.
